Sec. of State Pompei blames Iran for attack
Meanwhile Sec of State Pompei is giving a press conference saying:
- US assesses Iran is responsible for Oman Gulf tanker attacks
- Iran working to interrupt flow of oil
- Iran's unprovoked attacks are part of a a companion to escalate tension
- has instructed US Amb. to UN to raise Iran issue before Security Council
- Iran rejected Japan PM Abe's outreach for diplomacy
Pompeo took no questions.
Stocks have come off a bit on some "risk off flows". Gold moved to a fresh session high at $1343.24 and moves closer to the highs from last week (high reached $1348.31 - see earlier post here).
