GBP in focus today yet again 15 June
All eyes on the BOE MPC announcement at 11.00 GMT but later today we have the annual Mansion House speech featuring Carney and fin min Hammond.
I'm not expecting any great shakes with rates/QE staying on hold but as always we'll be keeping an eye on the vote count. I don't see a shift this time around nor much of note in the Minutes but traders/bots will try and glean as much as possible.
Later though we have the Mansion House speeches from 19.00 GMT. Carney will want to be seen to be keeping calm while his govt dig themselves out of a hole. Expectations are that Hammond will use the platform and his newly found political clout to talk of softer Brexit and his desire to stay in singler market as far as possible. That will be GBPpositive if markets perceive he could yet make it happen.
