Refineries a source of heavy demand as they feed gasoline demand, but it could end abruptly
There's some interesting commentary in the WSJ's Heard on the Street column regarding oil refineries.
"On a four-week-moving-average basis, utilization has been running above 95% since the week ending July 17, according to Energy Department data. That is the highest level since the summer of 2005."
They write that the average utilization drop from now until October is usually around 4.8 percentage points but the last time refineries ran this hard the decline was 7.1 pp.
