According to a tweet as reported by ITV political editor Robert Peston

Peston is saying that it is the UK government that is putting pressure on a deal being reached this week, otherwise the default option is that a no-deal Brexit would be the most probable outcome thereafter.

There's no doubt that both parties would have to start preparing for a no-deal outcome just in case things go awry but if that is your default option, it speaks volumes on the resolve you are bringing to the negotiating table.

I would still wager that Theresa May wants to get a deal done no matter what it takes as she needs to champion a case to try and win some backing from the public but if more talks like this start making headlines, expect that to drag the pound lower in due course.
