Russia told US about red line areas

Russian Foreign minister says that before US strikes Russia told the US which area of Syria were 'red lines' for Moscow. These red line areas were places that the US couldn't target. Russian minister confirms that these red lines were not crossed.
Makes sense that you would have a bit of a chat before dropping bombs which may cause a worldwide escalation into global war.
Reuters also repprt that the Russian Foreign minister has said that Trump and Putin will not allow an 'armed confrontation between the US and Russia'.
