White House press secretary, Sarah Sanders, speaks to reporters
Trump has been tweeting over the past hour and is adamant that either the Senate passes his version of the spending bill, which includes the border wall funding, or face "a very long" shutdown.
There isn't much other option on the matter at this point. It's either Trump backs down and accepts the spending measure that was put forward and approved on Wednesday - which doesn't include the border wall funding - or he gets McConnell to push forward with a change to 51 votes to pass spending bills (currently it's at 60 votes).
The latter option is what Sanders is talking about here. Let's see what happens later. Either way, stocks and risk sentiment will be on edge as a result of the commotion here.
