The news of the briefing has boosted oil by around 80-cents
The briefing is just getting underway but oil is higher as shorts cover on fears of jawboning from the pair.
Earlier, it was reported that Saudi energy minister al-Falih would hold the briefing without Russia's Novak but they later agreed to hold it jointly.
