Talks are today
Republican and Senate Finance Committee chairman Chuck Grassley predicts the US will not impose any tariffs on Mexic and that Mexico is going into talks with a 'long list' of things it will offer.
What makes his comment especially important is that he also predicted an announcement about no-tariffs on Thursday night.
US stocks are back higher on the day with the S&P 500 +12. I worry this will be a 'sell the fact' kind of trade but it might depend on how Trump frames a 'win' on the deal. If frames it as 'tariffs work' it will be more of a signal that he's going to go back to them in all his deals.
