The ICSC weekly chain store sales figures, released earlier. Showed a 4.5% increase year-over-year in sales during the week ending Dec. 24. ICSC also said they expect same-store sales up 3.5-4.0% in December.
S&P 500 futures are flat to up slightly.
I’m a bit puzzled as to why sentiment isn’t better and I suspect the calendar is the culprit. The Italian bill sales were good news and point to the likelihood of strong bond auctions tomorrow.
