South Korea exports surging again in April

Data from SK for the first 20 days of this month. Comparisons are done on a y/y basis, which will flatter the numbers given the very low base this time last year when the you-know-what was hitting the fan right around the globe. 

April 1-20 

  • exports +45.4% y/y 
  • imports +31.3% y/y 
  • trade balance at provisional $-2.03 bln - customs agency
  • avg exports per working day +36.0% y/y
  • semiconductor exports +38.2% y/y 
  • exports to China +35.8% y/y
