Lower inflation relieves the pressure

A one-tick miss on inflation was just the tonic for equity markets.

S&P 500 futures are now flat or slightly higher after erasing a 12-point decline. CPI was a shade lower than expected and that has calmed markets and sparked some dip buying.

In turn, commodity currencies are leading the way higher against the US dollar. USD/CAD is down to 1.3030 from 1.3055 while NZD/USD is up to 0.6520 from 0.6485 in a strong move.
