Speculation that Hirohisa Fujii (Japan’s Finance Minister) will step down due to poor health. He was admitted to hospital last week for tests after complaining of exhaustion. His resignation probably wont occur until after the years first cabinet meeting.
This resignation would come at an awkward time for Prime Minister Hatoyama as he and the government prepare to draft their annual budget for the fiscal year starting in April.
