Merkel’s government has been squabbling for months, so much so that the EUR was dumped late last week on talk she would stand down. Those squabbles look to be dying down as the coalition tries to figure out how to cut tax to spur economic growth at a time of fiscal stress.
Merkel seems willing to take a short-term deficit hit, saying tax relief will be offset in the medium-term.
