Surprise (not really)! Stocks open lower. Amazon down about 9%.

Surprise - not really - the US stocks are opening with sharp declines.

The snapshot is showing:

• S&P index down -49 points or -1.82% at 2656.32
• NASDAQ composite index -207 points or -2.82% at 7115
• Dow industrial average down 308 points or -1.23% at 24675

Amazon is trading down around 9.0% in early trading. The commentary on the stock is mixed despite the miss on the revenues. As far as guidance which were lower and wide, is Amazon sandbagging and having a laugh. Employment is higher.

Alphabet is down 4%.

In the US debt market, yields remain lower
