Latest data released by the Federal Statistics Office - 14 May 2019

  • Prior +0.3%
  • Producer and import prices -0.6% vs -0.4% y/y expected
  • Prior -0.2%

Producer prices come in flat for the month of April and against the same period last year, it's still showing a notable decline. That's not exactly great news for the SNB as it means that inflationary pressures aren't booming so that will give them less confidence when working towards normalising monetary policy. A minor data point though, but it definitely feeds into the overall inflation picture of the Swiss economy.
