1st new branch of military since Air Force was created in 1947
VP Pence says that the Space Force will be equal to the other 5 branches of the military.
The defense engine is a big contributor to the government expenditures. This initiative is more fiscal policy/spending.
Space is currently protected (think satellites) by the Air Force (apparently). How? Top secret I guess,. It is the Presidents opinion that that it requires a new military branch.
The action will require Congressional approval.
I wonder if NATO will contribute?
