Brexit talk will dominate
The economic calendar won't be the source of much drama today. Scheduled news includes minor data and a couple speeches.
It starts at the bottom of the hour with Canadian wholesale trade sales at 8:30 am ET (1230 GMT). The consensus is +0.5% after a -1.0% fall in March.
The first speaker on the agenda is 30 minute later when the ECB's Mersch speaks in Brussels. He will talk about the boundaries of ECB policy and the choice of instruments in the latest rounds of stimulus. There's no word on a Q&A.
The next event is at 12:15 pm ET (1615 GMT) when the Fed's Kashkari speaks on too-big-to-fail. It's well-covered ground for Kashkari, who also tilts dovishly. He's on a panel after the speech.
Aside from the Brexit newsflow, the final event to watch is a US 2-year auction at 1 pm ET.
