What to watch for today

We're waiting on comments from the Fed's Evans at the moment. He's at a Rotary Club breakfast delivering comments but there is no text and it might be running late. He's a dove and an influential one. I'm curious to see if there is any hint at an October or December cut.

He's one of a few speakers on the schedule today including Carney (topic is climate change so it's probably a dud), Coeure, George and Brainard (1400 GMT, a key one to watch).

Data includes US new home sales, weekly oil inventories and a 5-year Treasury auction.

All of that news is potentially market moving but the main focus today will be the release of Trump's call with Ukraine's President. It's not yet clear at what time that will be, and it could even be delayed until tomorrow.

The market is hung-up on impeachment at the moment. It's a low-probability outcome but many believe Trump will want to divert attention away from it with something more-dramatic.
