Ray Dalio of Bridgewater on how his huge hedge fund, Bridgewater Associates, uses dots - for employees to rate other employees!

  • Employees use iPads with proprietary "dot collector" software
  • Employees rate co-workers on 60 personal attributes, such as creativity, reliability and "believability" (based on their expertise in a particular area)

Dalio, and Bridgewater, uses 'radical transparency' to encourage a meritocracy of ideas. Turnover at the firm is high, with an estimated 25% of staff leaving within 18 months of staring.

Reuters have more on the firm, here, but there is plenty around the web about Bridgewater.
