Some industry insiders are today reported as saying GM will get enough capital for further restructuring within 60 days and Chrysler will get US$6 bio and 30 days to get into bed with Fiat SPA.
It is also reported that Obama still wants the automakers to sacrifice more, and that big bad B word (Bankruptcy) is still not out of the question!!
Just a thought, but maybe the US Govt should buy up enough cars from the US automakers to get them back to break even and then give those cars to the people who have lost their homes in the current metldown to live in. They could park right out front of their old home and not even have to change their mailing address. And if you are going to live in a car, what better car than a bohemoth made by the US automakers.
I think “Mobile Homes for the Newly Homeless” could be a catchy name too.
