US’s Target store has been Targeted by data thieves who are said to have rumbled the store of 40 million customer accounts . The hackers apparently hit between November 27th and December 15th which included Black Friday. Full credit card details were said to have been stolen, which shouldn’t have happened as the practice of storing card data s banned by card companies.

Target posted a message saying;

“remain vigilant for incidents of fraud and identity theft by regularly reviewing your account statements and monitoring free credit reports”

(Perhaps if they’d remained more vigilant their customers wouldn’t have to *****ng clowns!)

They also issued this comforting apology to customers;

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause . . . We take this matter very seriously and are working with law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice.”

I’ve got to say that I’ve done 99% of my Christmas shopping online and one thing I never do is save my card details to their websites. Probably won’t count for anything if they do get hit but it’s something.
