They have been hammering away at an angle — “We just want negotiation, let’s negotiate, why won’t Obama have a conversation?”
It hasn’t gotten them anywhere but they believe another six-week of debt ceiling drama and repeating the same line will begin to resonate with voters and eventually break down Democrats. They’ve probably given up on Obamacare but will regroup and take some other strategy.
