The strongest is the EUR. The weakest is the AUD .
The strongest currency is the EUR at our morning snapshot. The weakest is the AUD. The greenback is once again mixed with most of the action against the AUD. The AUD just ran out of momentum after the much better than expected employment report on Thursday. That report sent the pair sharply higher on the number but never traded to new highs after that initial move. Traders through in the towel.
The chart below shows the volatility as measured by the 22 day average of the day's ranges vs the actual range today (bottom chart). The top charts shows the snap shot of those ranges and we we are in relation to the close. The USDJPY sticks out as it has an above average range, it had a much higher high, but is now trading at the low....Big reversal.
US Retail sales, PPI, Business inventories, and U of Michigan Sentiment are all to be released today. Oh and it is Friday.... Position squaring.
