Good Morning everyone. Not the most active Asian session, to be honest, has left us pretty much where New York left off really, with Eur/Usd, Cable and Usd/Yen pretty much unchanged from Sean’s opening Asian levels. The tension between the UK Chancellor Alistair Darling and the Governor of the Bank of England Mervyn King over deficits and financial regulation hasn’t really garnered the attention over here that it might have done, and in truth King is just doing what a competent Central Banker should do, warn the political machine that high deficits and loose financial regulation isn’t the way forward. You could argue that he should have been doing more of this afew years ago. Looking ahead to the data for today, the highlights are again in the UK and the US. In the UK we have the third of the big three data sets with Retail Sales set for release, this is followed by Jobless Claims and the Philly Fed index from the States. Good Luck.
