Wilbur Ross makes it official

This has been rumored for a couple days. Wilbur Ross says the US will launch a national security investigation into uranium imports.

At least this one is a genuine national security concern. However I do believe that the US has massive stockpiles of weapons-grade uranium.

Here's a WSJ story today about a plant that's being built to dispose of nuclear weapons plutonium.

"In 2007, U.S. officials said the so-called MOX plant would cost $4.8 billion and be completed by 2016. DOE officials today estimate it would cost $17.2 billion and take until 2048, assuming $350 million a year in federal funding," the WSJ reports.

The plant would convert weapons plutonium into nuclear fuel.
