What's coming up

US equity futures are higher after some solid earnings from Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and others. That's helping to boost USD/JPY by 35 pips to 112.10.

Data isn't likely to be a major driver but it may help to underscore the state of the US economy. Up first at 1315 GMT is the September industrial production report, which is an important part of the Q3 GDP report coming Oct 26. The consensus is for a 0.2% rise.

At 1400 GMT, the October NAHB housing market index is in focus. Housing has struggled this year and the index is forecast to slip to 66 from 67.

At the same time, the August JOLTS report is due. Job openings are forecast at 6900 from 6939 prior. Around the same time, Italian finance minister Tria will be speaking in parliament.

Much later, at 2015 GMT we'll hear from new San Francisco Fed president Daly then at 2120 GMT, the RBA's Debelle is slated to speak.

Earnings later include Netflix and eBay.
