The US Commerce Dept. has made a preliminary ruling that could eventually block tomato imports from Mexico.
Their ambassador had some unhappy comments and said Mexico will respond.
Trade wars almost always have inauspicious beginnings and Mexico is the USA’s 3rd largest trading partner. Moreover, produce disputes seem to be the worst. The European Union had a 16-year battle over banana tariffs.
