A trade on the Farmers Almanac is just about as good as one on an economist’s forecast. Their prediction of a cold winter last year proved to be the best trade of H1.
The almanac started in 198-year-old and is based on a “secret formula”. It forecasts a “super-cold” winter East of the Rockies with the Western part of the US forecast to be a bit warmer. Most of the Northeast is expected to get more snowfall than normal, though it will be below normal in New England.
