Tokyo governor, Yuriko Koike, urges citizens in the Japanese capital to take precaution as virus cases continue to mount

As much as the focus in Japan is on the rising cases in Tokyo, other prefectures are also seeing the virus situation worsen over the past month.

Osaka just reported a new daily record of 155 cases today while Aichi reported 109 new cases - a record for the prefecture as well.

The active cases across the country is now fast approaching 9,000 with already 830 provisional cases reported so far today. The chart certainly isn't looking pretty:

You have to wonder for how long can the government keep the rhetoric that the situation is "under control" especially with preparations ahead of the Olympics next year set to be a focus area in the months ahead.
