Daily thread to exchange ideas and to share your thoughts
Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend and that you're ready to tackle the new trading week. It's been a relatively quiet start to proceedings so far with little notable changes across the board in the major currencies space. Risk is still calm despite a continued meltdown in mainland Chinese stocks but it's more tepid tones than anything else so far.
(The Bloomberg calculation for NZD movement is a little wonky, pardon that)
- Kiwi and aussie steady as risk backdrop a little calmer, shorts covered
- Other major currencies still ranging awaiting fresh direction
- Chinese equities continue to extend losses, Shanghai Composite -2.5% currently
- Bonds inch a little higher but not much notable action, Treasury yields a little lower
Still very much all to play for so let's see what the session ahead brings. What are your views on the market right now? Share your thoughts/ideas with the rest of the ForexLive community here.
