Ministry sources suggest that envoys from the ‘Troika’ are likely to remain in Athens until a a savings package of up to Eur 11.5 bln has been agreed , which also may speed up the next vital disbursement of rescue funds so urgently needed by Greece.

The Troika chiefs were due to leave Athens and the end of the month, but Paul Thomsen of the IMF apparently stated “we want to help and we will stay as long as it takes to prepare the package”
