Citing two sources briefed on internal discussions. If you recall in the calendar this week, Friday is the deadline for the White House to finalise the list of tariffs that it wants to slap China with - but the imposition of said tariffs are still unsure.

But the report here is saying that it could come as early as Friday or next week. During the summit in Singapore, Trump continued to maintain that he and president Xi has a good relationship but it sure doesn't look like that'll stop him from pushing through with this list.

China has been clear in letting the US know that they played a vital role to make happen the US-North Korea summit, so I'm sure they'd try and use that to gain some wiggle room in discussions.

However, how much consideration of that is to be taken into account by the US is another matter. And I doubt it'll have any significance once the list is published on Friday.
