Christie moved to Vice Chair.
President-elect Trump announced today his transition team, putting Vice President elect as the chair. Pence replaces Governor Chris Christie.
Also, on the transition team will be:
- Ben Carson
- retired Lieut. Gen. Michael Flynn
- former House Speaker Newt Gingrich
- Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani
- Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions
- Rick Dearborn (staff chief for Sen. Sessions) will become the transition director. Dearborn will have his own team which will include Kellyanne Conway the campaign manager for Mr Trump
- Trumps adult children will be on the transition executive committee and his son in law Jared Kushner.
The transition committee will be in charge of nominating and vetting 115 cabinet positions and about 1000 top posts that need to be confirmed by the Senate.
IN an another announcement (from an interview with the Wall Street Journal - CLICK HERE), Trump said he would keep some of the pieces of Obama care including having children up to the age of 27 remain on parents insurance coverage. He also favors keeping prohibition against insurers denying coverage because of pre-existing conditions.
The bending - on at least these provisions of the affordable care act - was as a result of the meeting Trump had with President Obama yesterday.
We are starting to see the bending of the election rhetoric which is a good thing if Trump is to unite the country and take the fear out of the "other half" Remember, although Trump won the electoral college vote, he lost the popular vote. It is the best interest of the promise to Make America Great Again, to unite vs divide where he can.
