Washington Post reports

The Washington Post is reporting that Pres. Trump is pushing the postmaster general to double rates on Amazon/other firms.

Megan Brennan has so far resisted, explaining that the:

  • Arrangements are bound by contract
  • They must be reviewed by a regulatory commisson
  • The relationship is beneficial to the postal service

Of course it is not black and white situation.

The details of the Amazon deal are not really known, but Amazon uses the postal service for the "last mile" in most cases. Do they take over the last mile one day? If they can do it more cheaply, they likely would.

AMZN is trading down -0.49% at $1574.06.
