There's a story doing the rounds about an indictment being granted against Trump

There's been a supposed "exclusive" sources story pumped out overnight, that a sealed indictment has been granted against Trump by a US court.

The article is here but is pretty brief and lacking in much detail;

"Separate sources with links to the intelligence and justice communities have stated that a sealed indictment has been granted against Donald Trump.

While it is understood that the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution means that, until Mr. Trump is impeached, he cannot be prosecuted, sources say that the indictment is intended by the FBI and prosecutors in the Justice Department to form the basis of Mr. Trump's impeachment. The indictment is, perhaps uniquely, not intended or expected to be used for prosecution, sources say, because of the constitutional position of the President."

I don't know how true this is, whether it actually means anything important, or could become something important. I've done a bit of googling and probably the best summary and source for who the writers behind this story are, and what it all means, comes from here, though I don't know anything about this site at all.

I haven't got a clue about the detailed mechanics of US law so if any of our resident yanks want to help enlighten us, please do so but let's try and keep it on point and whether this is something to consider (and therefore potentially trading related), rather than let things descend into the usual Trump bashing.
