Says wants to ensure interest of US, Israel and regional partners
Pres. Trump is on the wires saying:
- US intends to remain steadfast partner Saudi Arabia in order to ensure interest of US, Israel and regional partners
- US intelligence agency continues to assess all information on Khashoggi killing, "could very well be" Saudi Crown Prince had knowledge of this tragic event
- US canceling defense contracts with Saudi Arabia will benefit Russia, China
- US relationship is with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- Saudi's have been responsive to all price requests
I am not all that surprised. The killing and implication of the Saudi's in the "tragic event" was a bargaining chip to get oil price concessions and that is what has happened.
Khashoggi was killed on October 2nd and implicated on October 20th. The price of crude oil peaked on October 3rd at $76.90. On October 19th the price closed the week at $69.12. The price of crude oil reached a low today of $53.63.
