–UK Q1 Business Investment +6% q/q; -11% y/y
LONDON (MNI) — Business investment rose for the first time in two
years in the first quarter, suggesting the economic recovery could be
taking hold, figures released Friday by National Statistics showed.
Provisional figures showed investment rose 6% on the quarter in
Q1 although was still 11% down on levels a year earlier. This was the
first quarterly increase since Q2 2008.
The latest rise was led by an increase in investment in the service
sector.
