The Tories issue a statement on the leadership contest
Expect this to be a long, drawn out affair. The current timeline is that May will step down on Friday, 7 June so the nominations will take place the week after that. After that, the campaigning and what not will take quite a while to reach a conclusion with reports suggesting that it could extend until the end of July i.e. before the summer recess.
