–Rightmove: UK Sep Survey House Asking Prices 0.7% m/m; 1.5% y/y

LONDON (MNI) – UK homeowners upped their asking prices only
slightly in September, following sharp falls in July and August,
according to Rightmove’s latest House Price Index report.

Asking prices rose 0.7% on the month in September, after falling
1.6% in July and 2.1% in August, to stand around 3.0% lower than they
were just three months ago.

Commenting on the report, Miles Shipside, Director of Rightmove,
said:

“The deposit-rich are able to trade up, but many mass-market
rung-climbers are stuck in their current homes due to having
insufficient equity to fund a large enough deposit for their next
purchase.”
