Latest data released by ONS - 12 March 2019
- Prior -£12.1 billion; revised to -£12.7 billion
- Non-EU trade balance -£4.98 billion vs -£3.8 billion expected
- Prior -£3.6 billion; revised to -£4.4 billion
The trade deficit widens slightly as exports grew by 4.1% m/m while imports grew by 3.8% m/m in January. That's a positive sign if you ask me but the data here matters little in the context of where we are at today. It's all about Brexit now for the pound.
