UK June manufacturing PMI rose to 47.0 from 45.4 in May, better than median forecast of 46.4 and the highest since May 2008.
June factory output index rose to 52.1 from 48.1, the first time above 50 since March 08.
Cable was already on the defensive just ahead of the releases and is showing little reaction so far, presently at 1.6415.
Meanwhile service sector output fell -0.1% in April versus -0.2% in March, smallest decline since October 08. Fell -1.2% 3mnth/3mnth in April versus -1.6% in March, smallest fall since December 08.
Q-1 output per worker came in at -2.0% q/q, -4.2% y/y, biggest y/y fall since records began in 1960.
