Latest data released by the Bank of England - 4 January 2018
- Prior +64.6k; revised to +64.9k
- Mortgage lending 3.5bn vs 3.4bn expected
- Net consumer credit 1.4bn vs 1.5bn expected
Not much to read from the data as mortgage approvals remain similar to the prior month - post-revision that is.
It was a mixed year but the latest readings are among the lowest for 2017 - though it remains elevated compared to prior years so at least people are still looking for dwellings and lenders are still willing to offer it to them.
