FT reports

The story adds:

  • The vexed issue of the Irish backstop was close to being settled
  • One official close to Brexit said that the PM never brings the cabinet together to tell them what's going on, feels like the deal is practically done

The market has been trading these "deal is almost done" over the last few days.

The price is moving higher now, but is still below the highs for the day at 1.3242-46. The pair has not exactly fallen out of bed on the downside either, with London/NY lows at 1.3180 area, but with the news of a deal seemingly getting closer, you wonder if the market is setting up for a "sell the fact" reaction. All bets are off on a break of the highs, but if 1.31803 is taken out below, there could be more liquidation.
