Comments by UK PM spokesman, James Slack
- May to seek legally-binding changes to backstop in meeting with Juncker
- Government still working on alternative arrangements for backstop
- UK still looking to reopen the withdrawal agreement
- Cabinet has discussed no-deal Brexit planning
This could've been a copy-paste of a December headline and you wouldn't be able to spot the difference, really. The European Commission has continued to state that there would be no renegotiation/reopening of the withdrawal agreement, yet here we are. Feels like it's just a bunch of play acting all the way until things get down and dirty in late March.
