Comments by UK PM spokesman, James Slack
- UK Cabinet discussed planning for all Brexit scenarios
- Did not discuss Plan B if government loses Brexit deal vote
- Meaningful vote still set for 11 December
This follows after a European Union court aide hinted at the fact that the final ruling is likely to allow Britain to revoke Article 50 unilaterally earlier today here. As mentioned in the aftermath, the government will surely be unwilling to do so even if they are allowed the option as they will choose to respect the referendum and the vote of the people.
GBP/USD still sits higher on the day but gains have leveled off with the pair now at 1.2800. EUR/GBP sits lower on the day at 0.8904 currently, little changed over the past two hours.
