Comments by UK PM May's spokesman, James Slack

  • UK wants Brexit talks to end this autumn
  • Says Theresa May had Brexit phone calls with Cabinet colleagues over the weekend

Slack refuses to make any comments when asked about Sunday newspapers headlining that May could be on her way out saying he won't "dignify anonymous comments with a response". He also says that May is set to make a statement in parliament later at 1430 GMT.

A brief refresher: It is said that May had talks with Cabinet members over the weekend on Brexit policy and that none of those proposed were able to be agreed upon by Cabinet, which raises further doubt of any Brexit proposal being approved by parliament if even more neutral members are unable to agree with May - let alone the back benchers.

That raised questions on May's future and the hot topic now is that there is set to be a no confidence motion tabled some time this week.
