- Q4 final GDP +1.4% vs +1.3% y/y prelim
- Q4 total business investment -0.9% vs -1.4% q/q prelim
- Q4 total business investment -2.5% vs -3.7% y/y prelim
Preliminary figures can be found here. The headline GDP readings are more or less in-line with initial estimates but the more positive takeaway is that business investment didn't slow as much as expected from the preliminary report.
That said, business investment did suffer a decline in every quarter last year and that isn't an optimistic sign of an economy that is faring well. In fact, it is the first time on record that total business investment in the UK has fallen in every quarter for a calendar year.
