UK weekend press – Pound devaluation has had mimimal impact….
Just stopping by on this sunny UK morning to bring you a couple of articles that you might find of interest.
The first one is from yesterday’s Telegraph and features Friday’s speech from BOE MPC member Martin Weale.
With all the hype on currency wars and following on from Eamonn’s post this week-end, it’s worth considering that MPC’s Weale rightly expresses concern that the Pound’s 20 % devlauation since 2008 has had little impact.. A view I have long expressed in various musings, and further highlighting that our exporters have perhaps been placing too many eggs in one Eurozone shopping basket.
Nothing new in the piece but I think the debate merits our ongoing attention.
