UK finance minister Philip Hammond is now speaking to Bloomberg

  • Says we are not going to remain in anything indefinitely
  • There needs to be a period following the transition before entering into a long-term partnership with the EU
As mentioned earlier, the backstop will be a key issue of debate ahead of May's battle in parliament and depending on how she angles it, it may cost or gain her some votes when the time comes.
