–April Permits Originally Reported -11.5% To 606K Unit Rate
WASHINGTON (MNI) – The number of U.S. building permits issued in
April was revised up to a decrease of 10.9% to a 610,000 unit annual
rate, the Commerce Department’s Bureau of the Census said Wednesday.
Permits issued were originally reported down 11.5% to a 606,000
unit rate.
The Census Bureau revises the latest building permits data on the
18th working day of the month, three to seven days after the release of
the preliminary estimate in the month housing starts and building
permits report.
Permits for single-family homes were revised higher to a decline of
10.3% at a 486,000 unit rate (previously down 10.7% at a 484,000 unit
rate). Permits for multi-unit buildings were revised up to a decline of
13.3% at a 124,000 unit rate (previously down 14.7% at a 122,000 unit
rate.)
